PERIOD. Miami
AN UPDATE ON PERIOD. MIAMI AND WHAT'S NEXT
Since 2018, PERIOD. Miami has been a vibrant hub for menstrual equity in South Florida. Founded by Nicky Dawkins, our National Education Manager, the chapter grew into a welcoming space where individuals and families could access free disposable and reusable period products, engage with stigma-busting educational resources and workshops, and find community and connection at our monthly Period Paradise community events.
Celebrating Six Years of Impact
Over the last six years, PERIOD. Miami has:
Served over 190 schools in Miami-Dade County with period products
Hosted over 20 educational workshops in partnership with schools, volunteers, and local community organizations to break stigma and foster conversation
Hosted 60 Period Paradise and community events

Closing This Space
After careful consideration, we’re sharing that the PERIOD. Miami office will close on March 20th. Due to changes and challenges in the funding and political landscape we will not continue our direct period product distribution.
Our physical space is closing, but our commitment to South Florida students and educators is not. We are continuing to expand our comprehensive menstrual health curriculum to better serve students and community members in the area and across the nation. We’re thankful for community organizations, Miami Diaper Bank and the Beauty Initiative Inc., who will continue to support the Miami community with access to essential products. This is not a goodbye, but a transition we’re approaching with care and deep appreciation for everything we’ve accomplished together.
Final period product distributions will take place until March 2026.
We are deeply grateful to all community members, volunteers, partners, and donors who made this space and our impact possible. Your support has supported period product access and menstrual health for students and families across South Florida.
Continuing our Mission
Though the Miami space is closing, PERIOD.’s mission to end period poverty and stigma continues. In 2026, PERIOD. Is continuing to:
Directly distribute period products to our PERIOD. Chapters and other youth-led organizations across the country
Develop stigma-busting educational curriculum and landmark research
Advocate for policies that make period products more affordable and accessible for all who menstruate.
Thank you for being part of the PERIOD. Miami community. Help us continue to grow our global impact. Join the movement for menstrual equity and donate to support our work at period.org/donate.
